Secure Data Sanitization

Data sanitization and destruction for retired IT.

We provide data sanitization for supported drives and storage devices, with physical destruction arranged where required. Device records document the method used, the results, and any media that needs further treatment.

HOW THE SERVICE WORKS

01

Sanitization for supported media

We sanitize supported storage media using methods suited to the device, data sensitivity, and intended reuse. NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 provides the technical framework for developing procedures and distinguishes between clear, purge, and destroy.

02

Physical destruction

Physical destruction is a separate service that makes storage media unusable. It is arranged when the project requires destruction rather than reuse. Reports identify the actual treatment performed; an erased drive is never described as physically destroyed.

03

Verification and device records

Reporting ties serial numbers to the treatment method, operator, verification and validation results, and any exceptions. Certificates of sanitization and inventory reconciliation are included where specified in the service agreement.

04

Failed and unsupported devices

Failed erasures, inaccessible drives, and unsupported media are recorded as exceptions. These devices remain identifiable while an authorized alternative treatment is arranged, with the resolution included in the project records.
